After my second year, I had the privilege of gaining some experience under guidance of Prof. M. A. Quraishi in the field of Surface Chemistry and Electrochemistry when I primarily worked on- Electrochemical and Thermo Dynamical Investigation of Green Inhibitor on Corrosion Inhibition Behavior of Aluminium in 1M Hydrochloric Acid Medium
It was such a great experience to work under Prof. M. A. Quraishi who launched me into this wide world of research.
I am Rishi Korde. Currently, I am at working at The University of Manchester as a Visiting Researcher with guidance of the Prof. Igor Larrosa. I have completed the five Year Integrated Master’s Degree in the Industrial Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology (B.H.U.), Varanasi which is India’s Top Institution. I opted for the Integrated Master’s Degree (IMD) course as my aim is to focus on research and I want to pursue a doctoral programme after my graduation. I hold the Department Rank 1 with my C.G.P.A. of 8.87/10 and I am Gold Medalist of Industrial Chemistry Batch 2012-2017.

It was really most meticulous and arduous work I had ever carried out. I had been working on two projects for almost one and half year which I would be delighted to delineate but as it is still in press, I am mentioning the titles:
1. New Activation of Secondary Amides Transamidation by Mechanistic studies & computational studies.
2. An Efficient Synthesis and Applications of Aryl N-Nitrosamines. Jeyakumar Kandasamy, Priyanka Chaudhary, Rishi Korde
I used my knowledge learned in Germany related to DFT calculation for the proving the efficiency of out mechanism over previous reports and supporting theoretically the experimental results that we achieved in our lab by designing appropriate Kinetics.
Our team efforts were finally making our move towards success to my thesis project. It was a memorable time which I used to spend more than 12 hours/day in lab. Our team perseverance made us to complete project and about to publish in reputed journals.
This investigation use the FORTRAN program in order to compute: The Vibrational Heat Capacity per atom of Cu cluster size 2-150.
For quantum mechanical determination we use Superposition Approximation.
Used Embedded Atom Method by DAW, BASKES and FOILS.
Behavior of curves-
(a) Frequency vs. cluster size
(b) Heat capacity per atom vs. cluster size is observed

After completing fourth year, I began my thesis workinto field of Organic Synthesis under guidance of Dr. Jeyakumar Kandasamy, Jr. Professor at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. His research focuses on the development of new methodologies using metal catalysts for general organic synthesis and carbohydrate synthesis. Current areas of interest of our laboratory include metal catalysed oxidation/reduction reactions, glycosylation reactions, cross-coupling reaction, and oligosaccharide synthesis.
The major part of our research concentrates on the development and application of theoretical methods, including accompanying computer programs, for the determination of materials properties. Quantum theory formed the theoretical foundation for most of the work. The materials of our interest was of range from atoms, via clusters and polymers, to solids. We studied their structural, electronic, energetic, and optical properties.

It was fascinating journey of my life to be part of IIT-BHU. In 2012, I was selected through IIT JEE-2012 and began my life in Industrial Chemistry.
My goal is to pursue a challenging doctorate program in the organic chemistry. I am interested in developing new innovative concepts and methods in organic synthesis. I will explore my capabilities and knowledge under the esteemed guidance of world-class researchers. I am a dynamic and enthusiastic researcher ready to work in any area of the organic chemistry to any extent. Learn more.
In the November-December 2015, I got the opportunity to work in National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune, established in 1950, is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
My project was supervised by Dr. M.V. Shelke, and was focussed on Physical and Electrochemical Properties of Mn oxide Super-capacitor Electrodes Derived from Carbon Nanotube and Mn nitrates which was majorly associated with Hydrothermal synthesis, cyclic voltammetry, Impedance Spectroscopy, Supercapcitance, etc.

Prof. Dr. Patrick Lam at Blumberg Institute
RACCB-2017 was an International event being organized by the Department of Chemistry, IIT BHU, India and Department of Biomolecular Systems, Max-Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Berlin, Germany at the most beautiful and scenic campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. This workshop was being organized under the auspices of Indo-Max-Planck partner group progaram estabilished beetween IIT BHU and MPIKG.
It was delighted moment when I got the major responsibility of Anchoring for the INDO-GERMAN Workshop's Inauguration Ceremony whose convener and Secretary was my Masters thesis Supervisor, Dr. Jeuyakumar Kandasamy, who trusted on me and supported me a lot with his constant motivation.
I was getting my dreams fulfilled and I got the esteemed opportunity of co-authorship of Book Chapter CHAM-LAM CROSS-COUPLING: C-ELEMENT BOND FORMATION; Pys Lam, Bharat Kumar Allam, Rishi Korde, Organic Reactions, Wiley-vch.
This was the one of biggest achievement of my life till now for this I am grateful of our Group's Post-Doc fellow Dr. Bharat Kumar Allam sir. He offered me this book chapter, initially I thought that it is really big responsibility, am I ready for that? Then by his motivation and proper guidance I was able to assist in writing the book chapter.
I would also like to thank Dr. Patrick Lam, for trusting on me and giving me this opportunity. For those who don't know about Prof. Lam. Dr. Lam is a medicinal chemistry and drug discovery consultant. He collaborates with Blumberg scientists in terms of drug discovery and jointly supervises Blumberg chemistry postdocs and visiting scientists. He is the co-discoverer of Chan-Lam Coupling Reaction.
I always have a constant rigid support of my family and will be throughout my life for which I consider myself lucky enough. Thank you Mom, Dad and my dearest Sis.
